The G7 Meeting dedicated to Sustainable Urban Development took place at Palazzo Altemps in Piazza Sant'Apollinare, situated in the historic Ponte district, one of Rome's
oldest neighbourhoods.
Located just a few meters from Piazza Navona and Via dei Coronari—two of the city's most significant locations—Palazzo Altemps is home to the National Roman Museum, which focuses on the history of collecting. It houses exceptional masterpieces of ancient sculpture from renowned noble collections.
The most famous among the collections of ancient sculpture displayed in the museum is the Boncompagni Ludovisi collection. Ancient sculptures such as the Ares Ludovisi, the Galata Suicida, and the striking view from the noble floor, the Loggia delle Delizie— adorned with fruits and exotic animals— are some of the notable works that served as a backdrop for the sessions of the G7 Meeting.
