G7 Interior Ministers' Meeting

The G7 Interior Ministers’ meeting will take place in Mirabella Eclano on October 2, 3 and 4. The Minister of the Interior, Prefect Matteo Piantedosi, will chair the meeting. Participants include the G7 Ministers, the Vice President of the European Commission, and the Commissioner for Home Affairs, as well as Ministers of invited Third Countries and representatives from international organisations (Interpol, IOM, UNHCR, UNODC).
The first working session will focus on security in relation to evolving international scenarios.
The second area of discussion will address “Cybersecurity” examining both online criminal phenomena and protections for web users, particularly the most vulnerable.
The prevention and countering of international criminal networks responsible for the spread of synthetic drugs, especially fentanyl, will be central to the third session.
The working dinner will concentrate on the risks and opportunities in the application of Artificial Intelligence.
The concluding morning session will be fully dedicated to migration issues, with a particular emphasis on combating human trafficking. In this context, Ministers from specific countries of origin and transit for migrants have been invited to participate.
The event program will also include the State Police band performing a repertoire of symphonic pieces that represent all participating countries.
