The first two months of the Italian G7 Presidency
The first two months of the Italian G7 Presidency have just ended. Starting on January 12, with the meeting of the Sous-Sherpas, and ending on February 28, with the meeting of the Africa Directors of the Foreign Affairs Ministries, it has been an intense period of work.
The first meeting of the Sherpas – the representatives of the Heads of State and of Government of the G7 countries – was held on January 26-27. This event formally kicked off the preparatory work leading to the Taormina Summit, which will be held on May 26-27.
This first phase of the Italian G7 Presidency was also marked by meetings with various stakeholders: representatives from civil society, business confederations and international organizations (such as OECD, ILO and IFAD), and with ANCI, the association of Italian municipalities.
The following video summarizes the most important moments – so far – of the intense activity of the G7 Summit preparations.
