G7 Transport Experts Meeting
The G7 Transport Experts Meeting was held last week in Rome, at the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport, to pave the way for the G7 Transport Ministers Meeting, which will take place in Cagliari on June 21-22.
During the meeting, the experts addressed various aspects of the key topic chosen by the Italian Presidency: “Rediscovering the social value of Infrastructures”. The event was attended by representatives of the Transport Ministries of Italy, Canada, Japan, France, United Kingdom and United States, as well as the UE Commission. Under the Italian Presidency’s lead, they examined the most important issues with the aim of achieving shared conclusions among the G7 Member States, in order to define political strategies aiming at promoting the social value of transport infrastructures, paying special attention to the citizens’ needs and to their involvement in the decision-making processes and in the ownership of works.
