On May 5 Rome will host the Think Tank 7
Within the framework of the G7 “engagement groups”, on May 5 the Italian Foreign Affairs Ministry will host the Think Tank 7. This meeting will involve top representatives and experts from select think tanks in G7 Countries and in Africa.
The T7 will focus on Africa and will address three main issues related to the 2030 Agenda: food security, innovation and human mobility. The meeting is organized by ISPI (Institute for International Political Studies), one of Italy’s main international affairs forums.
The themes selected for the T7 are of the utmost importance for the African continent. First, panelists will address those factors that can help Africa to achieve secure access to quality food, a key issue for the development of significant parts of the continent. Innovation too offers extraordinary opportunities for the growth of many African societies, as demonstrated by a number of new initiatives that have turned into success stories. Human mobility, finally, is a notion that embraces both migration issues: flows out of the continent and flows from rural to urban areas, within the continent.
While the above three issues will be the main focus of the panel discussion, they will also be addressed within the framework of the broader international agenda, which takes into account security concerns, demographic trends, women’s empowerment, cities and infrastructures.
