Meeting of the Italian G7 Presidency with the OECD
On 15 February 2017, the Italian Sherpa, Ambassador Raffaele Trombetta, had a bilateral meeting with Gabriela Ramos, Special Advisor to the Secretary-General, Chief of Staff and Sherpa of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). During the meeting, Ambassador Trombetta and Ms Ramos took stock of the current state of play of the cooperation between Italy and the OECD in the framework of the Italian G7 Presidency, with specific reference to the Organization’s contribution in the areas of innovation, skills and labor; inclusive growth; Deauville Partnership; environment; women and girls empowerment; sustainable agriculture; and more. They reiterated their mutual commitment to strengthen the collaboration between Italy and the OECD and to work closely in the lead-up to the G7 Taormina Leaders’ Summit of 26-27 May 2017 and beyond, in order to ensure a successful and consequential Italian Presidency of the G7.
The meeting between Ambassador Trombetta and Ms Ramos took place in Rome at the margins of the launch of the “OECD Economic Survey of Italy 2017” by OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría, and was preceded by a bilateral meeting between this latter and Italy’s Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni.
