Milan is ready to host the Ministerial Meeting on Health
On November 5 and 6, Milan will host the G7 Ministerial Meeting on Health, along with a series of side events focused on various aspects related to this issue.
Known throughout the world as the capital of fashion and design, Milan has also achieved a leading role in pharmaceutical production over the past few years: 60% of Italian medicines are produced here and Italy ranks second in the world’s pharmaceutical production.
The city is also candidate to host the EMA (European Medicines Agency) headquarters, which will be relocated from the current offices in London. After the success of Expo2015, Milan is experiencing a new stage of growth. Its strategic location makes it an ideal city to host the EMA: three airports provide numerous connections with Europe and the rest of the world, high-speed trains allow to reach the main Italian cities in just a few hours. Urban mobility is guaranteed by an efficient public transport service and by many sharing mobility services that make the city increasingly sustainable. The Pirelli skyscraper, a symbol of Milan and chosen as possible venue of EMA, is located a few steps from the Central Station, a position that ensures easy access to the offices.
