The Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture has come to an end
The G7 Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture ended yesterday in Bergamo. The Agriculture Ministers of the seven countries, as well as the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Economy of the African Union, representatives of the European Union and international organizations FAO, OECD, IFAD and the World Food Program attended the event.
The meeting ended with the joint adoption of a final declaration that includes the following priorities: protecting producers' incomes from environmental crisis and climate change (with a specific mandate to FAO), more agricultural cooperation with Africa, greater transparency in food prices, fight against food waste, tracking local food production.
The meeting closed a whole week devoted to agriculture with over 50 events addressed to citizens.
