Second G7 Ministers’ Meeting on Industry and Technological Innovation

The second G7 Ministers’ Meeting on Industry and Technological Innovation started today, 10 October, in Rome. The delegations arrived at Palazzo Brancaccio, welcomed by the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, who will chair the three working sessions of the day.
Participants include Gina Raimondo, Secretary of Commerce of the United States of America, Marc Ferracci, the new French Minister of Industry, Peter Kyle, the UK Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, Francis Bilodeau, Canadian Deputy Minister for Innovation, Science and Industry, Udo Philipp, Germany’s Undersecretary for Economy and Climate Protection, a Japanese government delegation and the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Margrethe Vestager.
For the invited outreach countries, Dirk Beljaarts, Minister of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands, S. Krishnan, Deputy Minister for Digital and Information Technology of India, and Keonki Roh, Deputy Minister of Commerce of South Korea.
A delegation of African states involved in the AI Hub for Sustainable Development, including the Minister of Communication Technologies of Tunisia, Sofiene Hemissi, and the president of the Egyptian Applied Innovation Center, Ahmed Tantawy, is also attending the event. International organizations such as UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) and ITU (International Telecommunication Union) will also participate, together with African startups selected for the AI Hub for Sustainable Development, including IrWise, Kytabu, InstaDeep and Birrama Digital Commerce PLC, and important national and multinational companies, such as Amazon Web Services, Engineering and Sony, which will submit project proposals to be integrated into the Hub.
